Faucet Repair & Faucet Installation
Faulty faucets can cost unwanted homeowners time and expenses. Whether it’s corrosion, broken parts, or the consistent, steady leak costing you frustration and money, Friedman Plumbing Express technicians can repair or replace all faucet types – from kitchen sink, bathroom sink, bathtub and shower, laundry, to other utility plumbing.
Whether your faucet is “washerless” (ball, disc, and cartridge faucets do not use rubber or neoprene washers) or the classic compression type, Friedman Plumbing experts are one call away from faucet repair or installation.
Common Faucet Types:
Ball – Ball-type faucets are distinguishable by the round ball-shaped single handle which moves in a circular motion to control temperature and flow of water. Most common leaks and issues are from a faulty ball or defective O-ring seal.
Cartridge (Sleeve) – Cartridge faucets come in both single and double handle versions, but are easily identified by the method in which the water flow is regulated – up/down, and temperature – left/right. Cartridge faucets are often mistaken for compression faucets, and vice versa – the tell-tale difference is the smooth, pressure-less flow and action of turning the handles on a cartridge faucet. Leaks often occur with faulty/worn-out cartridges and the rubber O-ring seals.
Ceramic Disk – Often seen in more modern kitchens and bathrooms, ceramic disk-type faucets are identified by a single handle that controls both the flow and temperature of water through the pressure-tight seal of two ceramic disks, which raise and lower to control the passing of water. Though usually very reliable, leaks can occur via seals or material buildup in the chamber.
Compression – Unlike the other 3 types, compression faucets use rubber washers pressed to the valve seat to seal, which often will wear due to use, and the need for pressurized movement of the handles. Many older homes and utility sinks use this type of faucet, easily recognizable by the separate hot and cold water handles which require tightening for use.
